  • My wife and I have just found the Cross & Crown Church. We have attended twice and plan on going every Sunday for now. Ghost Ship leads the worship and they are amazing. The pastor has a good vibe. Look forward to his sermons.

In my experience this is not a church to go to be known and belong. They are very individualistic. The preaching seems to be spot on and the band sounds cool. But in practice they don't like to be a community.

Have gone to this church for two weeks. Here are some thoughts...
-Preaching was sound. I appreciate how they post the Scripture verses up on a screen for you to see. I was a bit disappointed that few people have Bibles/iphones with them, and there are no Bibles in the pews to refer to. Easy for someone to "slip in" false doctrine if people aren't actually reading the Word themselves.
    - Worship music was very good, and appeared to be done very humbly and with little focus on the musicians and vocalists. Great mix of hymns of the faith and temporary pieces. Musically wonderful.
    - NO ONE spoke to me at all on visit one. I was shocked and saddened. Everyone seemed to be busy conversing, but no one came up to me, even after I moved around a bit in the sanctuary after the service. They seemed too busy. Wow, too busy to speak to a visitor.
    - Visit #2 - thankfully, a young couple spoke to me and introduced themselves. Afterward, a man named Bob (very friendly and kind) spoke to me in the vestibule and I connected with him. Much better vibe.
    - I'm a little concerned about the way they handle Communion. Not much is said about it, and no Scripture is read concerning Paul's admonitions...which are serious and important. They also practice intinction here, where congregants simply dip their own bread in one cup and sit down. No one explains when to partake the elements. Strange. They almost seem embarrassed by or uncomfortable with the whole thing. It should be a thoughtful time of reflection, confession, and prayer. No one leads you in this at all. I would suggest the elders really prayerfully examine this part of the service.
Be careful- be sure this church stays true to Scripture and follows the gospel carefully. Follow Jesus Christ- He is the way the truth, and the life.

  • Great young church that is committed to sound doctrine and strong theology.

  • I love Cross & Crown Church. We meet in a beautiful brick building and get gospel centered songs and sermons. The band Ghost Ship leads worship often and they are awesome!
