  • This temple also is a great location for an Airbnb actually! They offer Airbnb services so travelers can experience what it is like to stay at a Buddhist temple. Worth a try if you are open minded to different cultures!

  • I started practicing with SGI and wanted more. I did my online research and reached out to the temple. I was greeted with the kindest email response. I went for my first visit and had no idea what to expect. I was welcomed by the members and one member even sat with me to make sure I knew what was going on. It was great! Another great thing is that they were more than welcoming to me as a gay man. I was so moved that almost a year into my time there and I'm hooked. Talk about a bunch of caring, thoughtful bunch of folks. Reverand Cederman will have light or very deep discussions with you about the teachings and things in life. It is definitely home for me.

  • When I first stopped by here, it was with the intention of stopping at a total of three temples to try and find one that fit me. I never got to the other two. This was the most welcoming and warm group of people I've ever met. I was so nervous when I walked in, but instantly they introduced themselves to me, sat me down next to them, showed me how service went, and were just genuinely the kindest people to a stranger I've ever met. Now, because I wanted to attend a Buddhist temple to further my understanding of Buddhism in the first place, this alone wasn't enough to keep me going week after week. What sealed the deal was the wonderful sermons and words by Rev. Cederman and Rev. Sorenson. Through their words I've been able to clear up a lot of rough patches in my life, something I had hoped, but never expected to happen. It's been a true treat to practice here. The temple also has a lot of amazing after service activities and workshops like traditional Japanese tea ceremony, frequent potlucks, haiku workshops, and a bunch of other things which make even after service time fun. I very very very highly recommend this wonderful temple to anyone looking to learn what Buddhism is, how Buddhists practice, or to further their own journey. It was such a complete joy to go here every week and not even a day after my last day here for a very long time (I'm moving to the east coast) I miss them all so much!!!! Thank you again everyone for a wonderful experience and I will definitely visit whenever I am in the area again! Namu myoho renge kyo.
