  To be perfectly honest, I haven't been back to St. Mary's Church since my Mom died. Prior to that, much had changed. I loved the fact, that, everyone was represented, but on this particular Sunday, all the Parishioners, ( mostly Black, Filipino, other Asians and Latinos) that I knew, were sectioned towards the back. The service was predominantly White, which spoke of gentrification. So sad that the area has changed so much!

  St Marys is a parish with an amazing commitment to Social justice, diversity and service. The music is uplifting and the church is beautiful. If you want a parish as diverse as the neighborhood, this is it. Come to the English or Spanish Mass for a spiritual boost.

  St. Mary's is a parish for the devout (frequently Hispanic) Catholic, the neighborhood, and faith-driven individuals ready to help in the community. The pews are old, the kneelers weigh a ton, but the church is beautiful. I was welcome and included.
